Follow the Brown Rabbit...

In stories we've heard and seen, some followed a White Rabbit that led them to adventure. This time however, you've followed a BROWN one named Padawan. Pada lived in our house, hopped on tiled floor, ate under the table, urinated&defecated by the door leading outside, and outlived 11 others.
I name this Blog after him.The brown rabbit who shared the same skin color as his surrogate family.Resilient&adaptive.Adventurous in his own rabbit way. October 2002 - April 2007

Takbo para kay Nessa

Halloooo friends! To those who have seen the Palawan episode of the GamePlan host search way way way back, the following photos will look a bit familiar. ;)

OK, actually I'm not supposed to reminisce... I'm supposed to PLUG! :p haha! And there's actually a reason why this collection can now be found here.

Just a brief background...

Before I got sick last week, I went to Gie's daughter's first birthday party. Wheeee! That was a fun "children's party" even if the ratio of kids to adults was 1:10! ;) (I'll post some pics next time)

I couldn't believe how fast time actually flew... Janna, Miss Gie's daughter, was already a year old! Imagine that! Ang bilis! Gie has just given birth a few months back right before we climbed Mt. Tundalara in Busuanga (refer to the photo above).

Going back to the children's party... When I saw Jan, Anna, and Gretch (the producers), my own memories of the ultimate GP experience came rushing back in. I felt like I grew so much over the months and yet I felt that we were still all the same -- goofy adults! Wowie and Paolo couldn't make it that afternoon though so I didn't see them. I wonder how it would be like to have all six of us (with Paulo, Jo, and Quin) eating isaw and stuff again? :)

Awwww. sabi nga ni Jan, matanda na kayo, kaya nyo na yan.

Anywhoooo...

Right before that party, Kuya Mandy (our game soundman above) sent me an email. This is actually the reason why I am blogging right now.

Nessa, the five-year-old daughter of Tiong Ladra who is also a beloved soundman of Probe Productions, needs an immediate heart operation.

Although I have not met Nessa yet, the thought makes me, a complete stranger, feel that I want to do something for her. Each child has the right to a beautiful childhood and the right to life.

This next event is a fundraiser for her.

TAKBO para kay Nessa.
October 1, 2006. Sunday. UP Oval.
6:00 am.

150 runners.
1,000 kilometers (6.6 km each)
One special girl.

P.S.
Miss Gie said I could walk instead since I haven't fully recuperated yet. To those who can't run (like moi), we can give our support by walking. :) There will also be an auction afterwards... Oakleys, Jansport, and many more.

Sounds good?
See you there!

Watch Wowie and Paolo every Sunday 1:30pm on Studio 23 :-)

GOODNIGHT EVERYONE!

It's one of those nights.

overwork + overplay

= sick little lala confined in her bedroom for three days :(
But once on her feet again, what does she do first? BLOG.

Ok that was a bit of exaggeration on my part. Blogging's just one of the many things that I wanted to do but couldn't do for the past few days :) And now that I'm back on my feet (but not necessarily jumping, zipping, or dancing), blogging's one of the few things that I have enough energy for.

Since I'm still in the process of recuperating, I just want to share some things that happened over the weekend. It was the same CRaZy WeeKenD that caused me my health, haha! No, it wasn't the kind of crazy that was crazy-crazy or loopy-crazy or something-something-crazy. It was just plain crazy. A frenzy of schedules that for some reason still came out possible.

I was swamped with articles to read and answers to write, observations to transcribe, and loved ones whom I want to spend most of my time with. I felt I was SUPERGIRL for a while because my aim was to do all those in a single weekend. Yep, Franco came home over the weekend which in itself gave me something to look forward to but I didn't realize the weekend was actually so FULL of other obligations. But he was so game to bend all our schedules just to accommodate most of the things that I needed to accomplish. (I noticed how long my sentences were and my English teachers would kill me if they see all these run-on sentences but that's exactly how I want to put my point across! I was in a marathon with myself. I still am actually.)

So now... LET'S GO TO MY FUN UPDATES and LONG-OVERDUE PHOTOS!

Friday night with Franco and my preschool-teachies-turned-mommies!

Denise is due to give birth on December while Celinee's baby Santino, our dear little baby baller, will then turn one. We had two Francos as official photographers that night! :p (OH lookie DOC DORAY, I'm wearing the necklace you sent! :p thanksmuch!)

Breakfast during one of the long weekends... :)
with Franco, Coco, Ada, Sarah, and Rocky with more than half of our friends still missing ;-(

and Eggs!

One of the most special ladies in my life (alongside my mom and my three sisters) celebrated her 23rd birthday last September 18. She actually resides in Toronto now but I was able to call her during her birthday barbecue celebration ;) It's actually funny that we used to call ourselves "bestfriendsinthewholewideworld" back in highschool only to find out in college that we'd literally be found in different parts of the globe.

Serenity

After conversing with the Other and understanding one another completely, despite all the odds, the distance, and the individual differences, you feel light. At the same time, you feel strong that you could finally face whatever it is that will come your way. Your ability to be strong and light at the same time makes you even more powerful as a person.

And the best thing is you know that you are not entirely alone. You entrust yourself with the Other, so much so, that you allow the Other to love you, care for you, and be with you in spirit. And you do the same. You may be in two different places, traveling the world in two different times, but you are heading towards one direction. And that direction is towards each other’s paths, which eventually become one.

As travelers, you have to learn how to travel light. As a hopeful traveler myself, I believe that traveling light does not only mean a lighter backpack or leaving my famous blue kikay kit behind. More than the physical baggage that I could leave at home, traveling with a light heart is probably the best advice I could ever follow (and this time, the best advice I could ever give as well).

Travel with a light heart and you will come home richer. Your experiences will not be blurred by negative biases and you will finally view the world with the kind of innocence that we all once had. Each time, you will view the world with awe, with wonder, like a child. And each time, the world will be beautiful.

When you finally come to the end of your journey, you will be thankful that you brought along with you not a heavy heart, but a light one.

And you will be amazed that at the end of it all, the richest travelers are the ones with the lightest hearts.

When we finally learn this, we continue our journey beyond our first destination.

Hopefully when that time comes, we'd all get to embrace each of our experiences.
And would have finally learned to LIVE and LOVE.

Oh, Little Seed

There was once a Little Seed that fell near a rabbit's hole. And the rabbit, thinking that it was food, ate the Little Seed.

So now, the Little Seed is inside the rabbit's tummy. And the rabbit has this nagging feeling that he ate something BAD. Something terrible. Something horrible. And the nagging feeling just stayed there along with the Little Seed.

It's called a rabbit's intuition.

He just knew that something horrible is bound to happen...

If he doesn't remove the Little Seed from his tummy, it would soon grow into a seedling and then into a small tree and then into AN ENORMOUS TREE and nothing would be left of the poor rabbit because the branches would have pierced through all of him! ...his heart, his lungs, his hairy skin, everything gone!

"Oh NO!" The rabbit thought to himself. "I have to remove this Little Seed from my tummy! Or else I'm gonna... die!"

So, how do you remove the rabbit's nagging feeling? By removing the Little Seed. Right. But how do you remove this particular Little Seed?

This is a rhetorical question but I don't mind if anybody wants to answer.
I'm not bored. I'm actually preoccupied with certain things. And I just had to share this little rabbit's dilemma.

Bop Bop Bop

I saw a copy of the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL earlier. And I can now picture my dear friend, Sarah, calling me a teeny bopper once again. ;)

I was supposed to go to sleep but I just heard this upbeat bop-bop-bop-to-the-top song for the second time today. And I just realized that there are a LOT of things to be so "HIGH & BOP-PY" about (aside from all the work and stuff in school).

Guess who won the Inquirer's Best Performance Art SUPER Award...
PLANETZIPS!! clap*clap*clap* :)

I wasn't able to go to Rockwell and join the team during the festivities earlier but I'm celebrating with them in spirit right now. And to show that I am CELEBRATING in my own way...

Here are some pictures of Mastah Paulino during one of our classes.
These photos were taken by Anatalia Almario.

It's FUN TO ZIP!

*I'm soaring! Flying... running... trying... Now's the time... I'm breaking free.*

UPDATES:
My friend, Hazel, celebrated her 24th birthday last August 27. I'll post some pics once I get hold of them... (paging Anika and Probes! :p)

And whose 28th birthday was it last August 28? She had the longest birthday celebration ever. It lasted for two weekends. ;P

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Doc Doray dear!!! :)
Enjoy your trip and two-month adventure!

BEST LESSON I LEARNED FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK:
Think like an adult but view the world like a child.

Good night, everyone. :)
Have a beautiful week!
